Talasi’s impact on the well-being of local communities is driven by a strong commitment to collaboration and empowerment. Through our close partnerships with local farmers and producers, Talasi ensures the production of the highest quality products made with fresh local ingredients. With both an online presence and physical estates, Talasi offers consumers not only exceptional products but also an immersive experience.
The dedication to supporting local farmers is evident in our provision of a workforce at the origins of our products and the training and support we provide on agricultural practices. By operating cashew production facilities, Talasi not only provides stable income sources to farmers but also promotes sustainable practices. Each purchase made at Talasi contributes to our mission of empowerment and building a sustainable future for communities.
In addition to cashew production, Talasi implements sustainable programs that extend beyond the farm. By offering training and resources on soil health and crop diversification, Talasi empowers farmers with the knowledge to establish sustainable agricultural systems. This comprehensive approach enhances food security, reduces poverty, and fosters environmental stewardship.
Talasi’s impact reaches far and wide, as evidenced by our collaboration with over 3,000 cashew farmers, covering more than 4,500 hectares of land in Sumba. This extensive collaboration underscores the scale of Talasi’s influence on the local farming community and the significant land area dedicated to sustainable agricultural practices.
Through our work in Sumba and other regions, Talasi exemplifies the transformative power of sustainable agriculture. Our ultimate goal is to empower thousands of farmers across Sumba, fostering sustainability in the local agricultural sector.
In conclusion, Talasi’s commitment to collaboration, empowerment, and sustainable agriculture has a profound impact on the well-being of local communities. By working closely with farmers, providing training and resources, and promoting sustainable practices, Talasi contributes to a brighter and more sustainable future for communities in Sumba and beyond.

Our place in Biyahan has successfully made a comeback from the destruction of pests. We now collaborate with the farmers using our resources; technology and the know-how to assist our partners . In just one year, our collaboration with the farmers resulted in a healthy and fruitful cacao plantation. We continue to innovate on the fermentation and roasting to finesse the cacao for you, our loyal supporters.
Talasi Batukaru is located in the center of Robusta coffee plantation in Bali. Every step on processing the coffee contributes to its flavour. That is the reason we follow through all the process, so we can ensure that we are on the right path to unleash the potential of Indonesia coffee. We are able to do this thanks to our farmers and a solid team.

How can I contribute? How do we create a better livelihood? How can we use the abundant natural resources and add more value to their lives. This was my purpose calling and I have spent my adult life in the business of adding value to Indonesian natural resources.Â
After a few days in Sumba, I was reenergized and felt the urge to start a new journey. This new endeavor will be different. This time I intended to bring more power to the smallholders and farmers in creating a sustainable chain that can give value and impact on their lives. And I named this enterprise Talasi which in sanskrit depicts trees that always bear flowers, fruits and new leaves, and a sweet fragrance or cornflower in Latin America.
Talasi is about exploring and discovering the potential in the obscurity. Talasi is about setting up and operating at the Origin. Talasi is about working with the community, providing them with knowledge, skills and tools. Investing at the grassroots level and connecting the chain to sustain and maintain nature while enhancing livelihoods. With the end game of empowerment to the people of the land.
With the creation of our premium honest brands, Watu and Toye across food and natural ingredient products, everyone can be part of this vision with each purchase in support of the same values and mission to empower the grassroots communities.
We will soon complete our full facilities and retreat in Sumba which is currently roasting our Watu cashews. And our Batukaru Talasi Retreat, Bali opened earlier this year with Flores next in line.
I am excited about what the future holds for “the Origin” and I would like to take this opportunity to extend my personal humble invitation to each and everyone you to visit us and “Experience Talasi”.
Let’s discover the Origin,
Alisjahbana Haliman
